Lin Chiling, Gillian Chung Yun Tung, Kent Cheng Juk Si and others appeared in the film KING's Shanghai Film Festival press conference. Director Fan Jianhui revealed that Lin Chiling will have an enormous challenge in this spy film. Aside from a lot of torture scenes, she will even play a Shanghai woman over a 20 year span. Lin Chiling said, "It will be a very subversive performance. I will have to be made up to look very old, maybe you won't be able to recognize me. An old lady shouldn't have a little girl voice. I will deliberately lower my voice to be deep and mature."

Several of her past films like SWITCH had less than good word of mouth. Will she strengthen her script selection in the future? Lin Chiling said, "That's not my fault! Let it go!" She then explained, "All films have to face a variety of voices. Sometimes actors are like pawns. Film is like a jigsaw puzzle. In the end we don't know how the director will put it together."
